RECENT WORK
Transitaria encompasses four bodies of work: Bloom, Hybrids, Flux and Breathe. It reflects my interest in liminality, particularly things that hover on the fine line between attraction and repulsion.
- Bloom: Monochrome photograms of jellyfish
- Hybrids: Digital manipulated series emphasising the idea of metamorphosis and mutation of life forms.
- Flux: The series consists of large photogram panels of water on red, silver, and regular monochrome paper.
- Breathe: A video piece
Transitaria examines, in visual terms, an encounter with jellyfish (Medusa being the term for their adult shape) and our ambivalent reaction to them while, at the same time, making a visceral connection back to the more primitive functions of our own bodies.
